Watching paint dry........

I was so keen to get these ladies assembled, so I only put one coat of varnish on, before putting them together :0/

This created a problem when I needed to dry the final coats.......luckily we had lots of sunshine yesterday!!!! :0)

Barbican High Walk

We spent a couple of days in London catching up with family and friends, stocking up on supplies, and visiting the Bauhaus exhibition at the Barbican. After a week of quite autumnal weather, we were treated to a rare bit of sun for the last few days....although it has been terribly windy!! I had never been on the high walk, and was amazed to find the Londinium roman wall, views of St Paul's, the Shard, and lily pads glistening in the sun. We had lunch outside on the terrace too....

We really enjoyed the exhibition, and I love the Barbican as an exhibition space. No dead ends and snarl up points like some of the others in London.

Now I'm home, and it's back to work!!!

Strawberry Sunshine!

The weather has been awful so far this summer, but today the sun is shining, so I'm hemming this little ladies dress outside in the garden. The bees are having a wonderful time buzzing around my Foxgloves, and Pansies, it's a lovely way to spend the morning.

She's 10.5" tall, and paperclay and cloth. Made using Dixie Redmond's Izannah Walker workshop pattern.

Strawberry Blonde Izannah Walker style Doll

I've finished painting my 3rd head from Dixie Redmond's Izannah Walker Workshop

She has red hair - like me!

I've given her blue eyes, and I'm going to use this floral lawn to make her dress.

We're off to visit a few vintage/antique fairs over the next 2 days....so she will have to wait a while for her new frock!
