Not so Wordless Wednesday!

Although we're having a mini heatwave here this week - yesterday was the hottest September day since 1911 - this little lady is full of mellow autumn shades.....

Another Izannah Walker style doll, she's my original sculpt, hand cast in air dried slip, hand painted, uniquely dressed and available here.

Whirlwind Week....

I had an absolutely amazing weekend at Renegade Craft Fair in London's Brick Lane. It was great to see some familiar faces, and all the amazing other traders.

Even though I had only half a booth, and under 4 weeks to get ready, I'm so glad I made the effort to trade. A record number of Dollie Brooches found new homes, and Christmas Ornaments, Paper Doll Jewellery and Bookmarks were all popular.
A big "Thank You" goes out to everyone who shopped, chatted, and browsed over the weekend, and of course special thanks to the organisers, you really pulled off a superb fair!

If you picked up a flyer from me at the weekend, don't forget you have a discount code for my Etsy Shop, just a little thank you for coming out to meet me.

Today I have added the last Christmas Posting dates to my Etsy shop. I know it's still November, but for some countries, the last dates are really soon...

This Saturday I'll be popping up at The Secret Vintage Fair, In Liquid Night club, High Street Colchester, between 10.30am and 4.30pm

Get there early if you can. You must know by now, that the first 25 people through the door get a goodie bag. This time the treat from me is a Christmas Ornament for your tree. If you can't face the early rush, I'll have ornaments available to buy on my stall too.

This evening I'm choosing Dollie brooches for the fair.......

......and tomorrow I'll give you a glimpse of some of the gorgeous vintage silver jewellery which will be available on my stall.

Did I tell you that I have THE best job in the world? :0)

Thought I'd throw in a cheeky Throwback Thursday while I'm here.....

I think she must be the biggest doll I ever owned!!

Weekend of Work

I've been working (although it seems more like playing) all weekend on my little Li-Qua-Che doll.

Adding a flesh tone base coat

Features painted, and some of my favourite stripey socks!

Blushing and antiquing finished

Stringing and underwear coming together

She's been cast from a commercial mould from Recollect, of a Kestner googly doll, mould number 111. I've always had a soft spot for googlies, but this is definitely not a reproduction, more of an interpretation.....I prefer to paint eyes on my dolls, so she does not have glass eyes like the original, and I'm not a fan of the heavy eyelashes on the antique doll either....I also decided that she ought to have striped socks, just like me!!

Up next will be a suitable outfit, and some tiny hairstyling, so watch this space...

I'm loving working with Li-Qua-Che, and am already planning to create other, more altered versions of this little Kestner, she's going to be, I hope, a happy member of the Dottie Dollie family!

Dog Days....

We have a tiny guest here at Dottie HQ this week. Lolly the pug / French bulldog cross is holidaying with us whilst her family are away....

Lolly exploring.....

Trying to see over the fence....

Relaxing with a toy....

She's a real live wire, so work will be a bit hit and miss for the week! I've only managed to get a few photos of her, as she's normally dashing around, and impossible to capture with the lens. She does like a long nap after her morning walk though.....

So today I managed to get a few Etsy listings done.

Two versions of my largest brooch, Pansy, are available for the first time online.

Pansy Red Hair

Pansy Lilac Hair

I've also added two more Timothy's, he's such a cutie!

Timothy Lime Green Hair

Timothy Brown Hair

Whatever you're doing this bank holiday weekend, have a great time! We're not making any plans, as it's all a bit of a whirlwind...... :0)
